Entangled Hearts

A story if told of two hearts entwined,
Entangled in warmth and love that is beyond the mind,
It is said that one feels what the other feels,
And that in hurt, one, the other heals,
That when one hurts, the other is sad,
And when the other rejoices, they are both glad.
No matter how far they are apart,
Each can still feel the other’s heart.

It’s a strange tale to tell,
But I’ve heard it and know it well,
It’s funny how the heart makes its choices,
And ignores all our inner voices,
For these hearts did not ask to be the way they are,
If you thought they had then the truth is very far,
For they tried to stay apart,
But there’s no telling that to the heart.

They fought the way they felt,
Yet at each other’s sight their hearts would melt,
It was almost as though the battles to resist entangled their hearts more,
For as time passed, they grew closer than the day before.
Little is known about what happened to these hearts,
Maybe they are together or still apart,
All I know is that this story bewildered my mind,
A story of two hearts entwined.
