Abandoned

Abandoned

She cries because she has never known any other words,
She cries loud above the chirping birds,
She has no idea where she is,
And she knows not who she is,
As she lies there she hopes someone will find her,
And take her away from there,
It’s only a few moments that she’s been alive,
But it seems she was born to strife,

The smells around her are rotten and bad,
Funny how this rotten bin is all she’s ever had,
But she doesn’t know that,
She will never know that,
Because she won’t live long enough to know,
She’ll die before she can grow,
Her mother threw her away,
To live her own life far away.

She doesn’t know that before the day is out she will die,
She’ll never get to ask her mother why,
All she has is the fear of being alone,
And the chill that strikes her at the bone,
She has been abandoned to face the end,
By a mother who she first thought to be a godsend,
This day will be her last,
She prays God ends it fast.
