Hurts

It hurts deeply to watch you drift away,
The distance getting wider each day,
It hurts to know there’s nothing I can do,
And perhaps there may never really be me and you,

To know that we’ll never again be what we’ve been,
And that our hearts will never again see what they’ve seen,
It hurts that this may be the end,
That this, we may never mend.
