One step from paradise

She was nineteen,
But you wouldn't believe what she'd seen,
She had seen the worst of days,
With noone to tach her better ways,
She took her life yesterday,
Because she couldn't bear to see today,
The lottery ticket in her hand has just won,
But she'll never know, she's gone.

He closed up shop last week,
The outlook seemed bleak,
Noone knows where he has gone,
But his hear had been worn,
Today a man stares at the shut screen,
Ready to give more business than there had ever been,
He would have been rich,
But the dream now lies in a ditch.

I guess we must wait till tomorrow,
Give the sun a chance to follow,
Don't give up today,
Just give it one more day,
You could be one step from your dream,
No matter how it may seem,
That may be wise,
